Danube Plain is the biggest wine region in the north part of Bulgaria between Stara Planina mountain range and the Danube River. It is a region which produces a red and white wine with a temperate-continental climate with hot summers and a large number of sunny days. It covers the central and western part of the Danube plain, the southern bank of the Danube and its adjacent areas. The most important grapes planted are Gamza, Merlot, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Gamay, Gamza, Pamid and Aligoté. The north-west part of the region is well-known in the country with its high-quality wines with a special terroir. A region which needs to be looked for.
